Joseph W. Harris April 21, 1940-August 31, 2019 Joseph W. Harris, 79, of Rolling Prairie, IN, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. He was born April 21, 1940 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, the son of Ralph William and Edith L.(Reese) Harris. He was a member of the Conservation Club at Rolling Prarie for many years. He was President of the Rolling Prairie Cemetery Board as well. His favorite past time was coin collecting and visiting friends and visiting the Blue Chip Casino with his Blue Chip casino friends where he enjoyed dancing. A special thank you to Bonnie Mossman for her care and support a long time friend and companion.. He is survived by a son, Timothy Harris, South Bend, IN; daughter, Nora Scott of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Marguerite Schroeder; brother Mike (Deb) Harris; sister, two Grandchildren, Brad Scott, and Tyler Scott; He is preceded in death by his wife Hope Marie; 5 brothers and sisters and his parents. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends on Friday, Sept 6 from 5 pm until 8 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday September 7, 2019 at 11:00 am with Pastor George Bond officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, IN. A reception is to follow the interment at the Methodist Church in Rolling Prairie.
