John Kerwin, 77, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday December 22, 2024 at Northwest Health-La Porte in La Porte, IN.
He was born March 18, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of and John and Ann (Dehey) Kerwin.
John earned his Master’s Degree, which equipped him with the knowledge and skills to thrive in the competitive field of real estate. Over the years, he built a reputable career characterized by integrity and professionalism, earning the respect of his colleagues and clients alike.
A man of strong faith, John was very committed to the Baptist religion, which profoundly influenced his life and values. His faith guided him in all his endeavors and instilled in him a sense of purpose.
In addition to his professional life, John enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was an avid fisherman who cherished his time spent by the water, seeking both relaxation and adventure. Gardening brought him great joy, as he cultivated his green thumb and created beautiful landscapes that reflected his love for nature. Furthermore, John was an enthusiastic art collector, finding pleasure in acquiring pieces that brought beauty and inspiration into his home.
Above all, John was a devoted family man. He shared a deep bond with his wife and took great pride in his familial relationships. His love and dedication to his family were evident in all that he did, and he will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.
He is also survived by his wife Rosie and a son, Adam Sarduci of La Porte, IN;
John was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Brian, sister, Colleen, sister, Kathy.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends. A visitation will take place on Saturday, December 28 from 11am until service time at 12 noon at Calvary Baptist Church 1808 "I" street La Porte, IN. Officiating will be a friend of the family. Interment will follow at the Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, Indiana.
