John Kaler

Mr. John D. Kaler, age 74, of Hamlet, Ind., died 4:03 PM Friday, August 25, 2006, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born March 8, 1932 in Trumann Arkansas to the late John Kaler and the late Pricilla Rhodes Kaler. He has lived in the LaPorte area for 54 years coming from Arkansas. Mr. Kaler was employed by Teledyne Casting Service for 43 years as a core maker and retired in 1994. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He Served in the US Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. On Sept. 11, 1954 in LaPorte, Ind. he married Flora E. West who survives. He is also survived by Three Daughters, Mrs. Patsy Sue Frank Wiesner of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Paula Faye Fowler of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Judy Vernon Miller of Fish Lake, Ind.; Two Sons, Mr. James David Lori Kaler of New Carlisle, Ind., Mr. Duayne Heather Kaler of Hamlet, Ind.; Seven grandchildren, Randy Wiesner, Joseph Kaler, Angela Kaler, Sarah Berchiel, Betsy Fowler, Danny Fowler, Lindsey Kaler; Six great-grandchildren; One Sister, Mrs. Willisdine Norris of Trumann, Ark. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, August 28, 2006. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 29, 2006, Pastor Royce Ford officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
