John Crittendon

John A. Crittendon April 21, 1980-June 18, 2013 John Alphonso Crittendon Sr. was born April 21, 1980 in Michigan City, IN. His family moved to Kingsford Heights, IN in 1983. He loved and cherished his family, children and friends. Two of his favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting both started at a very early age accompanied by his beloved father, brothers, uncles and cousins. He also loved camping and attending family gatherings bringing his magnetic personality, his multi-million dollar heartwarming smile, and a twinkle in his eyes only God could have placed there. After making his transition he leaves to celebrate his life his father and mother John Crittendon Jr. and Janis (Mason) Crittendon, Kingsford Heights, IN; his son John Alphonso Crittendon Jr., Kingsford Hts, IN; his step-children Mykayla Joseph and Issiac Back, Fishlake IN; his six brothers John (John-John) Phillip Mason, LaPorte, IN; Charles (Tony) Mason, Carl Crittendon Sr., Larry Crittendon, Steven Crittendon, and Anthony (AC) Crittendon all of Kingsford Hts, IN; two sisters Kamika Gibson, Atlanta, GA; and Jerri (Shauna) Phillips, Kingsford Hts, IN; and grandfather Elder Linton Hawkins, Box Springs, GA. He has a wonderful family of uncles, aunts, 21 nephews, nieces and cousins. He had an awesome church family (New Jerusalem C.O.G.I.C.) A host of special family-like friends too many to list but to precious not to mention. He was just like his grandpa--he loved family until they became friends and friends until they became family, never meeting strangers. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents John Jr and Elizabeth Jean Crittendon, maternal grandparents Alphonso Robinson Jr. and Carol (Mason) Lawson, uncle Ronald Crittendon Sr, cousins Tyrese and Joe Carl Crittendon. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN . The family will receive friends Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 11:00 am, until time of service at the New Jerusalem Church of God in Kingsford Heights. A life celebration will be held at New Jerusalem Church of God, Saturday June 22, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Elder Michael Bush officiating. Interment will be on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of John A. Crittendon.
