Joann Blankenship

Mrs. Joann Roberta Blankenship, age 82, of La Porte, Ind., died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Beverly LivingCenter -Fountainview in LaPorte, Ind. She was Born September 11, 1924 in Elkhart, IN. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Croop and the late Leta Truex Croop. Mrs. Blankenship moved to LaPorte, Indiana, in 1942 coming from Elkhart, Indiana. On February 4, 1954 in Elkhart, IN, she was married to Elbert Blankenship, who preceded on March 2, 1990. Mrs. Blankenship was a homemaker.She loved to bake, gardening, crocheting and loved her family and the nursing staff at Fountainview Terrace Nursing Home. She was very set in her ways. She is also survived by her three Daughters, Leta Vandewalker of LaPorte, Ind., Marilyn Delbert Brock of LaPorte, Ind. Shirley Blankenship of LaPorte, Ind. One Son, Mr. Carl Elizabeth Blankenship of La Porte, Ind. Two Sisters, Carol Eggbraaton of Santa Barbara, Calif. Sister-Billie Eichinger of Goleta, Calif. Seven grandchildren, Six great-grandchildren Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, April 22, 2007 and from 8:30 AM Monday, April 23, 2007 until time of service.. Funeral service will be at the Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM Monday, April 23, 2007 , with Rev. Dan McDonald, officiating. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
