Jennifer Kellems

Jennifer Lee Kellems , 47, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away Monday August 16, 2010 at her home. She was born November 9, 1962 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Richard Lee Kellems and Patricia Houston Kellems. Jennifer graduated from LaPorte High School and attended PNC. She fought a courageous battle with her health all her life. She had a big heart, always had a smile and wanted to help others. She loved spending time with her grandaughters and her family. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Kellems Tom Perschke of LaPorte, IN; father, Richard Linda Kellems of Bella Vista, AR.; daughter - Patricia Shinn of Michigan City, IN; son - Elliott Shinn of Michigan City, IN; two grandchildren - Lily and Savanna; two sisters - Teresa Kellems of Ft. Myers, FL, Victoria Sutton of LaPorte, IN; special nieces - Brittney and Ashley; and her partner, Steve Richter. Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, and brother, Michael Kellems. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday August 19, 2010 at 5:00 PM with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Cremation will take place and burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
