Jean Bush

Mrs. Jean I. Bush, age 91, of La Porte, Ind., died 12:15 PM Monday, May 7, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born June 23, 1915 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Edgar Warren and the late Jean Melvin Warren. She has lived in the LaPorte area for 55 years coming from the Battle Creek, Mich. area. Mrs. Bush was employed by Kiwanis International and was a member of First Baptist Church of LaPorte. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the LaPorte County Public Library, volunteered at LaPorte Hospital, a Board member of the Salvation Army, Trainer & leader in Girl Scouts, Secretary of People to People Organization, leader of the Junior Church Choir and Junior Band. She was voted Women of the Year of LaPorte and was President of the LaPorte Hospital Aux. On March 5, 1938 in Elmhurst, Ill. she married Warren Bush who preceded in death January 5, 2002. She is also survived by her One Daughters, Vernelle Bush of Boston, Mass.; One Son, Mr. Lloyd Bertha Bush of St. Joseph, Mich.; Four grandchildren; and Nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, a still born Son, One Brother, Edgar Warren Jr. and one Sister Audrey Mae Warren Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2007, and from 9:00 AM Friday until time of the service at the First Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at the First Baptist Church of LaPorte at 11:00 AM Friday, May 11, 2007, Dr. Richard G. Blair officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
