Janice Coombs

Janice Ann Coombs, 58, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Saturday April 25, 2009 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born August 4, 1950 in Canton, MA., the daughter of John L. Coombs and Virginia Duest Coombs. Janice was retired from the US Navy. Janice loved photography and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and her cats; Yiddy, Pouncer and Scruffy. Janice was her sister's loving caregiver for two years. She is survived by her nephew, Brian Angela Ament of Rolling Prairie, IN; niece, Johnna Jim Klute of LaPorte, IN; great-nieces, Catherine Ament of Rolling Prairie, IN, Hannah Klute of LaPorte, IN, Emmaline Klute of LaPorte, IN, Amellia Klute; great-nephew, Allen Ament of Rolling Prairie, IN; aunt, Verna "Auntie Bean" Schribner of Delray, FL. and a very devoted friend of the family- Jon Roth of LaPorte, IN. Janice was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Joan Gierke. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., on Tuesday April 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dan McDonald, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. A Military Service will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #9423 of Rolling Prairie, IN. at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
