Jane M. Wickstrom

Jane M Wickstrom, 91, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was born September 8, 1933 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Bert Shippee and Helen (Tappan) Shippee.

A lifelong resident of the La Porte area, Jane was a proud graduate of Elston High School. She devoted herself to a fulfilling career as a cook at Lalumiere School for 34 years before retiring in 2000. Jane was a voracious reader and an aspiring author, having published three books. She was an active member of the Woman's Literary Society, where she shared her love of literature with fellow enthusiasts. She found joy in the fellowship and community at the Bible Baptist Church, further reflecting her deep faith and commitment to service. Above all she loved her family, she will be missed by all. 

She is survived by her son, Bradley (Beth) Lindborg of Savanna, GA; daughter, Connie Jane (Charles) Conjalka of LaPorte, IN; sister, Frances Bolles; two grandchildren, Erik (Emma) Lindborg, Britta Lindborg; two great-grandchildren, Zoe Lindborg, Nova Lindborg; 

Jane was preceded in death by her two loving husbands, Norman Lindborg, Perry Wickstrom; parents, and sister, Shirley Ann Maxey.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will take place at Heckman Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
