James C. Roda March 28, 1927-August 3, 2013 Mr. James C. Roda , 86, of Mill Creek, Indiana, passed away, after a short illness on Saturday August 3, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born March 28, 1927 in Mill Creek, Indiana, the son of Henry Roda and Inez (Hostetler) Roda. James worked in the produce department for Al's Supermarket for 27 years, retiring in 2012 James enjoyed his job at the supermarket, working with and meeting people. He also enjoyed working on his 250 acre farm. James also enjoyed watching golf and gambling. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his 3 daughters - Peggy Haag of Plymouth, IN, Christine (Doug) Keeling of Breman, IN, and Loretta Biggerstaff of Hudson Lake, IN; 2 sons - Charles Roda of Mill Creek, IN, Paul Roda of Plymouth, IN; 7 grandchildren - Jeremy Haag, Chad (Erica) Haag, Aaron (Allison) Keeling, Samantha (James) Morrison, Amanda (Keith) Collins, James (Angela) Roda, Nicole Biggerstaff; great-grandchildren - Ty, Craig, McKenzie, Connor, Makayla and Serenity. James was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Junior Roda and son-in-law, Michael. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm CST and Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 9:00 am CST until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday August 7, 2013 at 10:00 am CST. Interment will follow at the Sauktown Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana.
