James Peterson September 16, 1930 - February 10, 2016 James Peterson age 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. He is survived by his daughter, Janet (late Dan) Davis; grandchildren, Eric Flora, Ryan (Danielle) Loucks, Jenna (Mark) Skwirtz, Brandon (Krysta) Loucks, Tori (Ryan) Litchfield, Heather (Ryan) Sebasty, Alicia (Matt) Deutscher, Nathan (Anca) Loucks, Carissa (Jeff) Chester, William (Kate) Peterson, James E. Peterson; 26 great grandchildren; sister, Jane (Forrest) Kantner; brothers, Art, Carl and Ray Peterson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Gunnard and Julia Peterson; wife, Sandra Peterson; daughter, Denise Loucks; sons, Danny and Douglas Peterson and 5 siblings. James was a lifetime resident of Rolling Prairie. He proudly served our country in the US Army and was a charter and lifetime member of the VFW. On June 14, 1952, he married Sandra Flagg. He enjoyed gardening and just being outdoors but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family. James was a loving, handsome husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Franciscan Hospice for their loving kindness in his final days. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue LaPorte, IN with Pastor Nate Loucks officiating. Interment to follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
