Mr. James H. Hoeppner, age 86, of LaPorte, Ind., died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at his home in La Porte, Ind. He was born February 26, 1922 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Carl Hoeppner and the late Anna Abbeger Hoeppner. He has been a life long resident of the LaPorte area. Mr. Hoeppner was a farmer for 54 years and retired in 1985, he also worked as a butcher at Kingsbury Locker Plant for 32 years and he was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. On November 22, 1947 in LaPorte, Ind. he married Kathryn Keehn who survives. He is also survived by his Two Daughters, Ms. Linda Hoeppner of Wanatah, Ind., Mrs. Nancy Douglas Ricks of Walkerton, Ind.; One Son, Mr. James Bonnie Hoeppner of Walkerton, Ind.; Five grandchildren, Dawn Hickman, Lesa Garrison, Rebecca Bauer, Jeremy Hoeppner, Christopher Hoeppner; Five great-grandchildren; and One Sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Betz of Chesterton, Ind. He is preceded in death by his Parents, One Sister and Two Brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, June 15, 2008 and from 9:00 AM until time of the service Monday. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:30 AM Monday, June 16, 2008, Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
