James D. Griffin January 5, 1946-November 24, 2016 Mr. James D. Griffin, 70, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday November 24, 2016 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born January 5, 1946 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of William C. Otto Griffin Sr. and Hazel (Gasper) Griffin. Retired in 2008 from Teledyne Casting Service after 32 years of service. Loved his antique cars and visiting with family and friends. On June 19, 1965, in La Porte, IN, he married Lotus J. Dickson Griffin who preceded in death November 20, 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Kimmie M. (Harry) Morrison; two sons, Kenneth L. (Linda Foster) Hyde, Jason (Christine) Griffin; seven grandchildren, Joey Johnson, Robert McFrederick, David (Erica) McFrederick, Shawn McFrederick, Matthew Griffin, Karter Griffin, Emily Griffin; two great grandchildren, Hollie Johnson, Connor McFrederick; three brothers, Richard Griffin, Dennis Griffin, Kenneth Griffin; three sisters, Ethel McLaughlin, Janice Morris, Bessie Miller. James was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Howard Griffin, William Clarence Otto Griffin, Jr., sister, Juanita Hough. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, November 26, 2016, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 27, 2016, from 1:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Sunday November 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Monroe Jones, officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the Salem Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the to the family of James D. Griffin.
