James A. "Jim" Fowler, 70, of Mill Creek, IN, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. He was born April 7, 1941 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of George Fowler and Mildred (Barney) Fowler. James was an avid fisherman and outdoors man. He was an excellent craftsman and woodworker. James had lived over 25 years with Parkinson's Disease. On February 27, 1960, in LaPorte, IN, he married Janet (Seitz) Fowler who survives. He is also survived by his two sons - Jamie (Milissa) Fowler of Cheyenne, WY, Jay (Kimberly) Fowler of La Porte, IN; two daughters - Jenifer (Robert) Swanson of La Porte, IN, Jodi (Kurt) Ott of La Porte, IN; ten grandchildren; one step grandchild; two great grandchildren; two sisters - Georgianna (Roger) Wolff of La Porte, IN, Norma Ness of New Carlisle, IN. James was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl and John Fowler. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. A Graveside Service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Monday, April 11, 2011 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, IN.
