James Branscom

James W. ?Jim? Branscom, 90, of LaPorte, Indiana passed away, Tuesday, August 22, 2006 in LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, Indiana. He was born, October 4, 1915 in Linton, Indiana to Ruth Nickerson Branscom and Charles H. Branscom, who preceded him in death. He lived most of his life in South Bend and LaPorte, Indiana. On December 23, 1949 in Mishawaka, Indiana, he married Elnora Stearns, who preceded, October 21, 1992. Jim worked for 20 years at the Studebaker plant in South Bend, Indiana. He was a member of Vineyard Church in LaPorte, Indiana. His hobbies included gardening and photography. Jim enjoyed watching football games and was an avid fan of Notre Dame. Jim was a devout Christian. He was a very special man who touched many lives with his friendly smile and his greetings of ?God Bless You !? Survivors include one sister: Betty Ron Raab of Littleton, CO, one brother: Charles Maurene Branscom of Mishawaka, IN. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three brothers: Hoyt Branscom, John Branscom, and Robert Branscom. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 25, 2006 at Haverstock Funeral Home with the Rev. James Gippert officiating. Friends and family may call from 12:00 PM Friday, August 25, 2006, at the Haverstock Funeral Home, until time of the service.
