Mr. James E. Bishop, age 81, of 212 Bach St., La Porte, Ind., died Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born March 3, 1924 in Cruthersville, MO to the late Elmer Bishop and the late Dora Stanfield Bishop. Mr. Bishop was owner and operator of Bishop Phillip's 66. He was a Veteran of US Army during WW II and a member of V.F.W. Post #83 of LaPorte. IN. He is also survived by his wife Norma J. Bishop; Three Daughters, Madeline Don Jarka of La Porte, Ind., Susan Greg Williams of Hamlet, Ind., Lisa Dan Vitale of La Porte, Ind.; Two Sons, John Becky Bishop of Michigan City, Ind., Jimmy Bishop of Michigan City, Ind.; One Step-son, Ron Tidey of Michigan City, Ind.; Two Sisters, Frances Abernathy of St. James, Mo., Mary Evelyn Clemons; Twelve grandchildren; and Eighteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; One Sister; and Two Brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. A Private Family service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2005.
