Jack Floryan Oszuscik

Jack Floryan Oszuscik, 69, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday December 7, 2024 in his home in La Porte, IN, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born September 11, 1955 in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Floryan Bernard and Maryann (Honyak) Bernard.

A life-long resident of the area, Jack earned an associate’s degree from Purdue North Central, laying the groundwork for his successful career as an engineer. Jack was not only dedicated to his work but also embraced his artistic side during his younger years as a member of a small garage band where he showcased his keyboard skills. His love for music extended beyond performing; he enjoyed making and recording tunes that resonated with friends and family alike. A multi-talented musician, he also played the guitar, further expressing his artistic flair.

In addition to his musical talents, Jack was known for his playful spirit and humor, earning the title of the jokester in his family. His jovial nature and infectious laughter created an environment of joy and warmth wherever he was. Jack also had a keen interest in building model cars, tanks, trains, and planes, showcasing his knack for detail and craftsmanship. This hobby provided him with countless hours of enjoyment and a way to channel his creativity.

An enthusiast of recreational shooting, Jack maintained a collection of guns and valued the skills that came with this hobby. His diverse interests painted a picture of a man who fully embraced life, finding pleasure in both the imaginative and the practical.

Jack's final moments were spent surrounded by the love of his family, a testament to the strong bonds he fostered throughout his life. He will be remembered not only for his professional achievements and artistic endeavors but also for the joy and laughter he brought to those he loved. His legacy will continue to inspire and evoke fond memories among family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Russell (Elizabeth) Oszuscik of La Porte, IN; ex-wife of 30 years, Melody Oszuscik of LaPorte, IN; brother, Thomas Oszuscik; two grandchildren, Emily, Levi.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Randall Oszuscik.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Cremation has taken place.
