Howard Ribordy

Mr. Howard J. Ribordy, age 80, of 2901 S. CR 350 W., La Porte, Ind., died Thursday, February 16, 2006, at his residence in La Porte, Ind. He was born May 5, 1925 in LaPorte Ind. to the late Floyd Ribordy and the late Mildred Selkirk Ribordy, and has lived in the LaPorte area all of his life. Mr. Ribordy was a Dairy Farmer until his retirement in 1984. After he retired he worked as a custodian at Kessling Middle School for 10 years. He was a member of Door Village United Methodist Church. He was a Member LaPorte Community School Board for 12 years; Director of Associated Milk Producers, Inc.; Governor Appointed Member of the State Veterinary Board; Creamery Examining Board member; Animal Diagnostic Board Member; Building Committee Chair - Door Village United Methodist Church; Educational Wing Building Chair - Door Village United Methodist Church; Charter member Door Village Loins Club; Honorary Ceres Fraternity member; Honorary Alpha Zeta Fraternity Member; Picture is in the Purdue Agricultural Hall of Fame; Received the First Outstanding Young Farmer Award; Hosted the Farm Management Tour - July 29, 1958. On Feb. 24, 1946 at the Salem Chapel United Methodist Church in LaPorte he married Lesta Zerber who survives. He is also survived by his Three Daughters, Mrs. Linda Phillip White of Sylvania, Ohio, Mrs. Susan Brenc of Wheaton, Ill., Mrs. Sandra Terry Lee of La Porte, Ind.; One Son, Mr. Douglas Ribordy of Paw Paw, Mich.; Nine Grandchildren, Jennifer O'Brien, Matthew White, Jonathan White, Joshua Brenc, Alicia Lee, Melissa Lee, Michael Lee, Nicholas Ribordy Leah Ribordy; Two great-grandchildren; Two Sisters, Mrs. Betty Jane Clayton of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Phyllis Woolsey of South Bend, Ind.; One Brother, Mr. Dean Ribordy of La Porte, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2006, and from the Door Village United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM Monday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Door Village United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2006, Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Interment will be at Door Village Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
