Howard Curry

Mr. Howard E. Curry, 76, of 1105 W. 10th St., LaPorte, died Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 4:05 a.m. at LaPorte Hospital. He was born May 19, 1928 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Clement and Venita Sink Curry, and has live in the LaPorte Co. area most of his life. Mr. Curry retired in 1982 from Teledyne Casting Co. after working for 37 years. He also was custodian at The Presbyterian Church of LaPorte where he was a member and also a deacon of the church, and he was a veteran of the National Guard. On July 2, 1949 in LaPorte he married Lavon Lain. He Remarried January 3, 1987, in LaPorte to Elsie Ferrell who preceded him in death October 28, 1995. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and one daughter-in-law, Christeen Curry. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Susan David Lindgren of LaPorte, Mrs. Sandra Stewart Bangs, of LaPorte; two sons, Mr. John Curry of LaPorte, Mr. Jerry Judy Curry of LaPorte; 11 grandchildren; 1great grandchild; 4 sisters, Mrs. Margaret Bunn of Churubusco, IN., Mrs. Nancy Gakle of LaPorte, Mrs. Roslyn Cooley of LaPorte, Mrs. Marilyn Cannon of LaPorte; 4 brothers, Lloyd Curry of LaPorte, Paul Curry of Westville, Donzal Curry of Pineville, WV, and Ronald Curry of Ft. Wayne, In. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church, LaPorte, with Rev. David Gibbs and Rev. Louis Schumm officiating. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
