Helen M. Sharp October 25, 1926-February 4, 2014 Mrs. Helen M. Sharp, 87, of Michigan City, Indiana, died Tuesday February 4, 2014 at her home in Michigan City, IN. She was born October 25, 1926 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of William Clark and Caroline (Messer) Clark. Helen was a member of NARFE, Senior Center of LaPorte and Michigan City. She was a stock holder for LaPorte Co. Fair Board. Helen attended the art school in Chicago.She enjoyed art, drawing, playing the piano and gardening. Helen enjoyed her friendships at the LaPorte and Michigan City Senior Centers. On August 12, 1950, in LaPorte, IN, she married Gibson T. Sharp, Jr. who preceded her in death December 18, 1999. She is survived by her son - John (Sandy) Sharp of Westville, IN; 2 daughters - Barbara (Robert) Gilmore of St. Simons Island, GA, Janet Fitzpatrick of La Porte, IN; 2 grandchildren, Laurel Kuepher of Carrollton, TX and Drew Dempsui; nephew - James (Pat) Clark of La Porte, IN, and great- niece - Ashley Schable of La Porte, IN. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Theodore Clark and George Clark. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. The family will receive friends, Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Michigan City Senior Center 2 On The Lake Michigan City, Indiana. Burial of ashes will be held at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan City or LaPorte Senior Center.
