Helen Sanders

Helen J. Sanders, age 79, of LaPorte, Ind., died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born on July 7, 1929 in Antigo, Wis. to the late Alvy Patzer and the late Wilhelmina Benizhek Patzer. Mrs. Sanders was employed by LaPorte Community Schools as a Kitchen Manager for 23 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She bowled in a mixed double league and LaPorte Senior League for years, she enjoyed her family and photography. She loved cooking from scratch and gardening. On August 2, 1948 in LaPorte, Ind. she married Glenn Sanders, who survives. She is also survived by Two Daughters, Mary Jo Kiem of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Marie Scott Matheson of San Jose, Calif.; One Son, Michael Sanders of LaPorte, Ind.; Four grandchildren; Three great-grandchildren; and Several Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one son; Russell Sanders and one sister; Venieta Dionne. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday, July 18, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 12:00 PM Friday, July 18, 2008. Cremation will take place.
