Helen Sabie

Mrs. Helen M. Sabie, 91, of La Porte, Indiana, died Sunday April 12, 2009 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born March 16, 1918 in Egeland, North Dakota, the daughter of Alfred Sult and Nora P. Good Sult. Helen worked as a Manager for Fox Photo for 12 years and retired in 1984. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, and taught Sunday school for several years. Helen quilted with the ladies of the church for many years. On September 28, 1937, in Langdon, ND, she married Norman H. Sabie who preceded in death January 31, 1995. She is survived by her daughter Norma P. Sabie of La Porte, IN; sons Don J. Sabie Sr. of Cherokee Village, AR, Sherman R. Sabie Sr. of Cherokee Village, AR, Edward H. Ellen Sabie of Palm Springs, CA, Oliver C. Sabie of Memphis, TN, Robert P. Sabie Sr. of La Porte, IN; 19 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great Great Grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 1 brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, April 15, 2009 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, April 16, 2009 9:30 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., April 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Entombment will follow in the Swan Lake Memorial Garden, Michigan City, Indiana.
