Helen King

Mrs. Helen Ilene King, age 84, of 1204 Andrew Ave. Apt. 209, La Porte, Ind., died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at 7:40 AM at Fountainview Terrace in La Porte, Ind. She was born on Dec. 14, 1920 in Forrest, Ill. to the late Peter Wesselhoff and the late Elma Thompson Wesselhoff. Mrs. King was employed by Lalumiere School as a cook for 30 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a member of Springfield Twp. Farm Bureau, Springfield Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxilliary, enjoyed bunco club, activities also of Springfield Township. On June 3, 1954 in Decatur, Ill. she married Kenneth King who has preceded her in death. She is survived by her Three Daughters, Mrs. Wilma Matayo of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Kathy Carow of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Phyllis Cannon of Manitowoc, Wis.; One Son, Mr. Robert King of La Porte, Ind.;One Brother, Mr. Pete Joan Wesselhoff of California; Ten grandchildren; and Fourteen great-grandchildren. she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Mamie Garvin, Mary Twitchell, Pearl Carter; one brother, Harold Wesselhoff; and one grandson Charlie Carow. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 28, 2005. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, July 29, 2005 , Father Williams officiating. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memorial Garden in Michigan City, Ind.
