Helen Joyce Gasaway August 28, 1946-January 7, 2018 Helen Joyce Gasaway, 71, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Miller's Health and Rehab in La Porte, Indiana. She was born August 28, 1946 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of Henry Koes and Helen (Crum) Koes. Helen worked as an accountant at Illinois Tool Works. She was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City, The Red Hat Society, and the John Franklin Miller American Legion Post 37 Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, going to thrift shops, and spending time with her two cats and Chihuahua dog "Buttons". On June 10, 1967, at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City, Indiana, She married Emery Gasaway who preceded in her death June 24, 2011. She is survived by her son, Todd (Melissa) Gasaway of Columbia, TN; seven grandchildren, Sara, Joelle, Nicholas, Ariel, Victoria, Paige, Brittney; three great-grandchildren, Amerykus, Aubrye, Daniel; brother-in-law, Gordon (Cheryl) Gasaway Jr. of La Porte, IN; two nephews, Mark (Kris) Gasaway of South Bend, IN, Ryan Gasaway of AZ; two cousins, Craig Gloff of La Porte, IN, Kevin Standefer of La Porte, IN; second cousin, Brandon Standefer of La Porte, IN. Helen was preceded in death by both her parents, husband, and her infant son, David Gasaway. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Friday, January 12, 2018, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 13, 2018, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
