Harvey Masek

Mr. Harvey C. Masek, age 87, of La Porte, Ind., died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at 10:55 AM at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born November 28, 1918 in Wanatah, Ind. to the late Benjamin Masek and the late Clara Gloor Masek. He has lived in the LaPorte County area all of his life. Mr. Masek was employed by Allis Chalmers for 34 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. He served on the Church Council and a member of the Church Men's Group. He served in Company F of the 142nd Infantry Regiment of the US Army during WW II and received a Bronze Star Citation. He was a member of the American Legion Post #83 of LaPorte and a Member of the Wanatah Historical Society. On October 4, 1947 in LaPorte, Ind. he married Dorothy Reed who survives. He is also survived by his Two Sons, Mr. Dennis Tammy Masek Sr. of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Ronald Arlene Masek of Kalamazoo, Mich., Four grandchildren Mr. Dennis Masek Jr., Miss Stefanie Masek of LaPorte, Ind., Mr. David Masek of Kalamazoo, Mich., Jason Masek of Kalamazoo, Mich. One Sister, Mrs. Judith James Baugh of South Bend, Ind.; and One Brother, Mr. Benjamin Masek Jr. of Niles, Mich. He has been preceded in death by his Parents and 2 Sisters, Ruth Alumbaugh and Gloria Brown. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 18, 2006 and 9:00 AM Wednesday July 19, 2006 until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 19, 2006, Rev. Victor M. Frohne officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
