Harold Neukam

Harold L. Neukam September 15, 1938-January 22, 2017 Mr. Harold L. Neukam, 78, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, passed away Sunday January 22, 2017 at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, IN. He was born September 15, 1938 in Portersville, Indiana, the son of Leland Neukam and Rosa (Tabor) Neukam Tedrow. Harold retired in 1993 after 31 years of service as a sergeant with the Indiana State Police. He was in charge of school bus inspection for the Lowell Post. After retirement he worked at Purdue North Central as a security officer. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Rolling Prairie and a member of the F.O.P., Indiana State Police Alliance, Indiana State Police Pioneers. He enjoyed working on cars. On April 7, 1980, in Rolling Prairie, IN, he married Shirlene Houseknecht Smith Neukam who survives. He is also survived by his mother Rosa Tedrow; two Sons, Terry Neukam, Michael T. Neukam; Daughter, Theresa O. McCormick; step-daughter, Tammera (Harry) Rinker; step-son, Martin C. (Patricia) Smith; Two Sisters, Linda Thomas, Beverly Meehan; brother, Gary D. Neukam; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his father, 2 brothers, Donald E. Neukam, and Roger K. Neukam. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, January 25, 2017, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday, January 26, 2017, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday January 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. John A. Haferkamp officiating.
