Guy Pointon

Guy R. Pointon, 73, of 1105 W. 18th Street, LaPorte, Indiana, passed away, Thursday, August 26, 2004 at LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, IN. Born, September 23, 1930 in LaPorte, IN., to Joseph Bentz and Gertrude Iola Antrim Pointon. On June 15, 1974 in LaPorte, Indiana, he married TwilaWalker Bilger, who survives. Mr. Pointon worked for NIPSCO as a Lineman/Supervisor for 35 years and retired in 1990. Member of the Door Village United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Post #1130. Veteran of US Army was a Corporal during the Korean Conflict, American Legion Post #83, US Steel Workers Union #12775 for 33 years, Scipio Twp. Park Department, was a Door Village United Methodist Church Trustee, Beechwood Senior Men?s Golf League, enjoyed gardening, golfing, fix-it type person. Surviving is his wife; Twila Bilger-Pointon of LaPorte, IN., five daughters; Penny Steve Hollifield of Columbus, OH, Teresa Carl Pfauth of Michigan City, IN., Cindy Dave Fitgerald of Eden Prairie, MN., Julaine Steve Kammeyer of Urbandale, IA., Carolyn Bilger of South Bend, IN., two sons; Gregory Bette Pointon of LaPorte, IN., Scott Sandy Pointon of Decatur, IL, twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sister, Edna Lain of LaPorte, IN., Arnieta Charlie Edwards of Goose Creek, SC; sister-in-law, Mary Pointon of Salem, AR., several nieces & nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, and four brothers. A funeral service will be 10:30 am, Monday, August 30, 2004 at the Haverstock Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Friends may call Sunday, August 29, 2004 at the Haverstock Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 pm and 9:00 am Monday 08/30/2004 at Haverstock Funeral Home, until time of service. Burial of ashes will be held in the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN. at a later date.
