Grace Mccarty

Mrs. Grace L. McCarty, age 94, of La Porte, Ind., died Friday, April 20, 2007, at her home in La Porte, Ind. She was born January 11, 1913 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Gault Lange and the late Ethel Forbes Lange. She has lived in the LaPorte area all of her life. Mrs. McCarty was Homemaker and was a member of First Christian Church. She had a strong loved for music, which she passed on to her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was involved in amateur musical performances and was a soloist in many churches in LaPorte. She was very active in community arts and touched many lives. She was adored and treasured by her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. On September 2, 1933 in LaPorte, Ind. she married Donald C. McCarty who preceded in death in 1983. She is also survived by her Daughter, Mrs. Karen Gerald Hajarian of Vienna, Va.; Three Sons, Mr. Timothy Sandy McCarty of Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Perry Janice McCarty of Goshen, Ind., Mr. Ralph McCarty of La Porte, Ind.; Eleven grandchildren; and Six great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 26, 2007, Rev. Rick Abbott officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
