Glendal Sims Sr.

Glendal E. Sims Sr. September 24, 1935-December 21, 2018 Glendal (Gene) E. Sims Sr., 83, of Mill Creek, Indiana passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Glendal was born in Eldorado, Illinois to Jewel and Maude (Carner) Sims Sr., who preceded him in death. On May 7, 1955 (over 63 years ago), he married his loving wife, Sarah L. (Baker) Sims, who survives. Glendal is also survived by his 4 children: Glendal (Cathy) Sims Jr., James (Kelly) Sims, Teresa Sims, and Ryan Sims; 11 grandchildren: Manda (Rich) Szewczyk, Danielle (Rob) Edgecomb, Jacob Sims, Michael (Lori Clark) Sims, Jennifer (Eric) Bidlack, Joshua Sims, Gary (Michelle) McCleland Jr., Beth (Kip) Prast, Seth (Tricia Hould) McCleland, Carson Hines, and Justin Miller and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Angela Sims, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Glendal is very loved by his family and he truly loved them. He loved to joke around with those dear to him. He enjoyed gardening and just being outdoors. He was a very hard working man who took pride in any work he did; as he was a perfectionist. He retired in 1997, after being a member of the Painter's Local for 37 years. His joking personality, great smile and caring heart will be forever missed. Services will be at a later date.
