Gladys Bass

Gladys E. Bass September 17, 1924 - February 18, 2016 Gladys E. Bass age 91, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Westpoint, Iowa. She is survived by her children, Stanley (Connie) Popp, Curtis Popp, Pam Robbins and Tim Russell; grandchildren, Michael Popp, Mark Popp, Matthew Popp, Chris Helterbran, Todd Robbins, Jeff Robbins, Wesley Popp, Kim Popp, Adam Popp and Nick Popp; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bass; sister, Helen Tillinghast and brothers, Wilbur Callender and Wesley Callender and infant daughter, Robin Russell. Gladys was born and raised in LaPorte, IN. She retired as a secretary from the USW Local 1485. Gladys enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and most of all, she loved being with her grandchildren. Gladys was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick, officiating at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue LaPorte, IN. Interment private at Carmel Cemetery, LaPorte, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
