Georgia Ruth Whitted September 2, 1931-December 26, 2017 Georgia Ruth Whitted, 86, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Brentwood Assisted Living in LaPorte, Indiana. She was born September 2, 1931 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of George Shultz and Inez (Steele) Shultz. Georgia was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the La Porte Service League and the March of Dimes. She served on the LaPorte Hospital Auxiliary Board and was president of the Girl Scout Council. On July 1, 1949, in Hammond, IN, she married John (Jack) M. Whitted who preceded in death May 26, 2013. She is survived by her five daughters, Lynn (Lee) Christopher of Houston, TX, Beth (Peter Rodgers) Whitted of Baxley, OH, Jill (Al) Cummins of Seattle, WA, Carol Crocker of San Diego, CA, Jean (Robert) Stitt of San Diego, CA; ten Grandchildren, Max, Rachel, Scott, Jenna, Pete, Rayne, Hunter, Sierra, Robert and Marshall; two Great Grandchildren, Rose and Rowan; and a brother, Donald Shultz of Hammond, IN. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, husband a daughter, Jan Stich, and a son, Thomas Whitted. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN the family will receive friends Saturday, January 6, 2018, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Ave. A life celebration will be held at the Church, Saturday January 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
