Mrs. Georgetta L. "Jody" Brinckman, 73, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday November 14, 2010 at her home. She was born February 8, 1937 in Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of Gerald A. Goldsberry and Alta L. Lovejoy Goldsberry. She had lived in the LaPorte area, since she was sixteen years old, coming from Lafayette, Indiana. Georgetta worked as a teaching assistant for Title I. She was chaplain for the IVFA, member of the Michigan City Free Methodist Church. Jody was a member of the Springfield Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary, Women's Ministries International, and former member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed dressing up as a clown for churches, birthdays, and restaurants. Jody enjoyed collecting and wearing jewelry. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. On April 2, 1955, in New Carlisle, IN, she married Lyle A. Brinckman who survives. She is also survived by her two sons - Thad Ella Brinckman of La Porte, IN, Bradly Lori Brinckman of Nashville, MI; two daughters - Bonnie L. Smith and Darlene Randy Delco both of La Porte, IN; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson and one sister - Carol Pellam of Clarks Hill, IN. Georgetta was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jack Andrews officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan City Free Methodist Church 3001 Ohio Street Michigan City, IN 46360.
