Mr. George E. Skinner, 75, of 1307 Andrew Ave., LaPorte, died Thursday Dec. 16, 2004, at 6:29 p.m. at the LaPorte Hospital. He was born September 9, 1929 in LaPorte to Earl G. and Irene McCormick Skinner, and has lived in the LaPorte area all of his life. Mr. Skinner was concrete specialist and retired in 1968. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. during W.W. II and Air Force and Navy during the Korean Conflict, and her enjoyed watching Notre Dame and the St. Louis Cardinals play ball. On Oct. 22, 1966 in LaPorte, IN., he married Jean E. Larson who survives. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Joan Verl Ren of LaPorte, IN., Mrs. Twila Sullivan of LaPorte, IN., and Mrs. Gail Edward Borkowski of LaPorte, IN. Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Betty Schroeder, Norma Skinner, June Wilson; and one brother, Cecil Nelson. The funeral will be Monday December 20, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Dennis Meyer and Rev. Jock M. Cox officiating. Friends may call Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
