George Palm

Mr. George E. Palm, age 94, of La Porte, Ind., died 11:45 PM Sunday, June 1, 2008, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born February 23, 1914 in LaPorte, IN. to the late Edward Palm and the late Wilhelmenia Meyer Palm. He has lived all of his life in the LaPorte area. Mr. Palm was an Owner /operator or Palm Barber Ship for 61 years; he also sold real Estate for 20 years. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Elks and the Lions Clubs. He Served in the Army during World War II. On September 17, 1939 in South Bend, Ind. he married Ruth Ashley who survives. He is also survived by his Two Sons, Mr. Alan Palm of Olathe, Kan.; Mr. Robert Palm of Henderson, Ky.; Five grandchildren; and Three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Parents; One Son Mr. Richard Palm; One Brother, Mr. Jonas Palm, Two Sisters Miss Grace Palm and Mrs. Edna Ettstad. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM Wednesday, June 4, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:30 PM Wednesday, June 4, 2008, Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
