George F. Crk, 93, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Tuesday June 29, 2010 in an accident. He was born February 11, 1917 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, the son of Frank Crk and Anna M. Vorlicek Crk. George was a Veteran of US Air Force during WW II, he was proud to be a member of Strategic Services, which is now the CIA. Some of his training was with J. Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI. George was one of the founders of the Center Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, and was a very dedicated member. He was a supervisor at the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant, also was owner of the Oakwood Grocery and Oakwood Construction. George will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor. George was helpful to all and loved all who knew him, especially his family and his many friends. On May 27, 1944, in Sioux Falls, SD, he married Babette "Betty" Buchanan Crk who preceded him in death June 24, 2003. He is survived by his sister - Bessie Biehl of La Porte, IN., and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hager and several nieces & nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Jeanette Juranek, Mildred King, and three infant sisters; two brothers, Jerry Crk, and Laddie Crk. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. There will be no visitation. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Door Village Cemetery, with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick, officiating. Interment will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center Township Volunteer Fire Dept. or the Alzheimer's Association 50 E. 91st St. STE 100 Indianapolis, IN 46209.
