Gene Peeples

Mr. Gene E. Peeples, age 73, of La Porte, Ind., died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at 5:30 A.M. at his residence in La Porte, Ind. He was born February 19, 1933 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Wayne Peeples and the late Maryann Thompson Peeples. He is a life long resident of the LaPorte area. Mr. Peeples was employed by Conrail Railroad as a track operator for 35 years and retired in 1995. He was a Veteran of US Navy C.B.'s, LaPorte VFW Post #1130, Life member of American Legion Post #83, F.O.E., and Phi Delta Kappa. He Graduated from Union Twp. School and he worked hard to provide for his family. On May 1, 1965 in Rolling Prairie, Ind. he married Carol Wagner who survives. He is also survived by his Two Daughters, Mrs. Eileen Randy Stoeckinger of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Dawn Adam Mitchell of La Porte, Ind.; Three Sons, Mr. David Rosetta Peeples of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Brian Peeples of Las Vegas, Nev., Mr. Wayne Michele Peeples of La Porte, Ind.; Seven grandchildren, Kyleen Fuller, James Stoeckinger, Anthony Scott Peeples, Anthony William Peeples, Brandon Peeples, Nicole Peeples, Abbigial Mitchell; One great-grandchild, Allen James Fuller, and One Sister, Mrs. Joan Heaps of La Porte, Ind. He is preceded in death by his parents, One Daughter, Dianna Lynn Peeples, One Sister and One Brother. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, June 18, 2006 and from 10:00 AM Monday June 19, 2006 until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Monday, June 19, 2006, Rev. Kim Cole officiating. Interment will be at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, Ind.
