Gene Eskridge

Mr. Gene A. Eskridge, 74, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away, Sunday June 27, 2010 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte. He was born July 24, 1935 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Clarence Eskridge and Margaret T. McCormak Eskridge. Gene worked at Plimpton Press for twenty-three years. He then worked for the Wirecraft Corp. for thirty-years, retiring in 1997. He was a Veteran of the US Army National Guard during Peacetime. On September 17, 1955, in Michigan City, IN, he married Sharon Luchene Eskridge who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters - Darla Steven Clough of Highland Village, TX, Dayna Stacy of La Porte, IN; six grandchildren - Krystal Ganzer, Ben Clough, Blake Clough, Tara Stacy, Amber Stacy, Adam Stacy; three great-grandchildren - Caleb, Bryanne and Brayden. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles Eskridge, one grandchild, Daniel Clough, and son-in-law, Charles Stacy. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 12:00 pm, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday July 1, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Carl Galloway officiating.
