Gay Howell

Ms. Gay N. Howell, age 79, of LaPorte, Ind., died 11:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2008, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born March 2, 1928 in La Porte, Ind. to the late Wyatt DeWitt and the late June Wagner DeWitt. She has lived all of her life in the LaPorte area. Ms. Howell was employed by Allis Chalmers for 11 years in the accounting dept. and later at the LaPorte Hospital as a patient accounts representative for 5 years. She was a member of LaPorte Presbyterian Church, Eagles Auxiliary-Past President, LaPorte Hospital Retiree, Presbyterian Church-Deacon, and Presbyterian Women. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her Two Daughters, Mrs. Jayne Thomas Travis of Minnesota, Amy Michael Siford of La Porte, Ind.; Two Sons, Mr. Jim Howell of Houston, Texas, Mr. Randall Jodi Howell of Spring Hill, Fla.; One Sister, Gloria Magner of Sequim, Wash.; Eight grandchildren and Six great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, March 1, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 1, 2008, Rev. Louis W. Schumm officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
