Gary Cornell, Jr.

Mr. Gary E. "Squeek" Cornell, Jr., age 72, of La Porte, Ind., died Monday, November 10, 2008, at his residence in La Porte, Ind. He was born on November 5, 1936 in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Gerie Cornell, Sr. and the late Mildred Juranek Cornell. He lived in the LaPorte, area, all of his life. Gary was employed by Berkel Corp for 28 years as a metal polisher. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan, liked to play golf, and he loved all sports. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #492 of LaPorte. Gary loved his children and grandchildren very much.... On May 4, 1957 in LaPorte, IN, he married Katherine Fanson, who preceded, May 22, 1993. He is survived by his; One Daughter, Kathy Miller of La Porte, Ind.; One Son, Gary Sarah Cornell III of La Porte, Ind.; Three Grandchildren, Jason Miller of LaPorte, Ind, Kristy Miller of LaPorte, Ind., Sarah Miller of LaPorte, Ind. and Three Great-Grandchildren, Brandon Miller, Jayson Miller, Nolan Miller.; Two Sisters, Margaret Smith of New Carlisle, Ind., Katherine Cole of New Carlisle, Ind. Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Katherine Cornell; Sister, Dorothy Schwiezer; Brother, Jerry Cornell. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 13, 2008 and from 9:00 AM Friday, November 14, 2008, until time of service. A Moose Lodge Service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Haverstock Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM Friday, November 14, 2008, with Pastor Roger Ash, officiating. Burial will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
