Mrs. Garnet Ilene Perkins, age 96, of Dayton, Ohio, died Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Hospice Center of Dayton Ohio. She was born July 8, 1911 in Largo, Ind. to the late William Dillon and the late Daisy Tyner Dillon. She had lived in the LaPorte area for over 66 years. She was a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan College. She retired in 1976 as a teacher for the LaPorte Community School Corp. She had taught for 40 years and the last 28 years she taught at Kingsbury Elementary School. She was a member of Tracy United Methodist Church. On July 6, 1936 she married Ed Perkins who preceded in death in 1971. She is survived by her Three Sons, Mr. Jan Perkins of Houston, Texas, Mr. Steven Bonnie Perkins of Akron, Ohio, Mr. David Perkins of Kettering, Ohio Six grandchildren, Aaron Perkins, Amy Lasson, Kristie Lester, Matthew Perkins, Andrew Perkins, Jennie Perkins; Eleven great-grandchildren; and One Sister, Mrs. Helene Hussey of Warren, Ind. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Three Sisters and Two Brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2008. Funeral service will be at Tracy United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Friday, February 22, 2008 and friend may call from 10:00 AM Fri until time of the service at the church, Rev.
