Frederick M. Barney September 18, 1927-May 12, 2014 Mr. Frederick M. Barney, 86, of Hamlet, Indiana, died Monday May 12, 2014 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born September 18, 1927 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Glen M. Barney and Huldah M. (Eskridge) Barney. Fred was a self-employed concrete mason He enjoyed working in the yard. Frederick loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.. On July 15, 1950, in La Porte, IN, he married Bonnie L. (Olson) Barney who preceded him in death May 4, 1994. He is survived by his two sons, Randy (Cheryl) Barney of Knox, IN, Rick (Karen) Barney of Garland, TX; two daughters, Debbie Barney of Dallas, TX, and Mary Jo (David) Jordan of La Porte, IN; six grandchildren, Brittney Barney, Tony Purkal, Jake Purkal, Angie Barney, Matt Hamlin, and Jessica Manns, and nine great grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Charles Barney. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, May 16, 2014 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 12:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday May 17, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ann Dill officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana.
