Frank Okrzesik

Mr. Frank J. Okrzesik, 81, of Kingsford Heights, IN, died Sunday June 5, 2011 at his home. He was born October 1, 1929 in Lyons, Illinois, the son of Frank Joseph Okrzesik and Rose (Cebrat) Okrzesik. Frank worked as a Warehouser for Whirlpool Corp. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He had a green thumb with plants; he liked to fish and was an avid animal lover. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. On July 31, 1954, in La Porte, IN, he married Margaret L. Smith Okrzesik who preceded in death June 11, 2008. He is survived by his 2 sons - Dennis (Connie) Okrzesik of La Porte, David (Krista) Okrzesik of Granger, IN; daughter - Karen Okrzesik of Kingsford Heights, IN; 5 Grandchildren - William, Paul, Callan, Amanda, Amy; 7 great grandchildren; brother - John (Shirley) Okrzesik of La Porte, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Christine, 2 brothers, Joe, Walter, and 3 sisters, Marge, Helen, and Virginia. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a wake service will be held Tuesday at 3:30 pm and Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wednesday June 8, 2011 at 11:00 am with Father Ian Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, IN.
