Frances Aikman

Mrs. Frances L. Heiden Aikman, age 85, of La Porte, Ind., died 10:15 AM Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Countryside Place in La Porte, Ind. She was born May 18, 1921 in Westville, Ind. to the late Clarence Heiden and the late Dorothy Trost Heiden, and she is a life long resident of the LaPorte area. Mrs. Aikman was a Homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church of LaPorte and was active in the Ladies Circle with the church. She was also a member of the American Red Cross and enjoyed doing needle-point, crossword puzzles and enjoyed her family. On November 24, 1938 in LaPorte, Ind. she married James Aikman who preceded her in death August 16, 1994. She is survived by her Daughter Mrs. LaVonne Aikman Meyers of Westville, Ind.; Three grandchildren Mr. Ron Kayla Meyers of Westville, Ind., Mrs. Debra Dan Lute of Alpena, MI., Mrs. Tammy Jeff Goodwin of Wanatah, Ind.; and Eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Grandchild Patricia Meyers and One Great Grandchild Zachery Goodwin. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2006 and from Noon Monday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 2:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2006, Rev. Doug Ohime officiating. Interment will be at Westville Cemetery in Westville, Ind.
