Florence Stefano

Mrs. Florence M. Stefano, 81, of 110 Cedar Dr., Walkerton, IN., died Thursday February 12, 2004, at 8:45 a.m. at the LaPorte Hospital. She was born Aug. 2, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA., to John and Mary Meinhart Eggers, and has lived in the LaPorte area for over 50 years. Mrs. Stefano retired in 1987 from American Ribber Co. after working for 25 years. She enjoyed crafts, card playing, and her dog Daisy Mae. She married George Stefano in LaPorte, IN. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1971. Also preceding her in death are her parents; three sisters, Ruth, Margaret, and Esther; and three brothers, Elmer, Frank, and Howard. Surviving are one daughter, Joanne Terry O?Banion of Walkerton, IN.; two sons, Wayne P. Lori Stefano of Walkerton, IN., and George M. Barbara Stefano of LaPorte, IN.; and one sister, Marie Shields of Pittsburgh, PA. The funeral will be Saturday, February 14, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. Friends may call Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
