Flora Kaler

Flora Ella Kaler August 3, 1931-July 11, 2015 Flora Ella Kaler, 83, of Hamlet, Indiana, passed away Saturday July 11, 2015 at IU Health LaPorte Hospital. She was born August 3, 1931 in Coalfield, Tennessee, the daughter of Jim West and Alta Mae (Carder) West. Flora had worked ten years for Mc Donald's Restaurant, retiring in 2005. She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in LaPorte. Flora loved spending time with her family, children and grandchildren. On September 11, 1954, in LaPorte, IN, she married John Daniel Kaler who preceded her in death August 25, 2006. She is survived by her five children, Patsy (Frank) Wiesner of Sun City, AZ, Paula Fowler of La Porte, IN, James (Lori) Kaler of Hamlet, IN, Judy (Vern) Miller of Walkerton, IN, and Dwayne (Heather) Kaler of Eau Claire, MI; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Cross of La Porte, IN; two brothers, Martin (Emma) West of La Porte, IN, and S. A. (Betty) West of OH. Flora was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six brothers, Arthur, Jesse, Bill, James, Hobart and Ray West. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, July 16, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday, July 17, 2015, from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday July 17, 2015 at 10:00 am with Pastor Royce Ford officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
