Fern Harder

Mrs. Fern E. Harder, age 94, of Mishawaka, Ind., died 9:25 AM Monday, October 30, 2006, at Fountainview Place in Mishawaka, Ind. She was born February 24, 1912 in Kingsbury, Ind. to the late Ora Barney and the late Myrtle Replogle Barney. She lived most of her life in the LaPorte area, until moving to South Bend, Ind. in November of 1993. Mrs. Harder was a homemaker and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was also a member of Johnson Twp. Women's Club, loved to sew, and enjoyed watching college & pro basketball games. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved her favorite dog "Louie" a cockapoo. On July 13, 1929 in Tracy, Ind. she married Russell E. Harder who preceded in death February 19, 1994. She is survived by her Son, Mr. Ora Dorothy Harder of Mishawaka, Ind.; Sister, Neva Hostetler of Plymouth, Ind.; Ten Grandchildren, Glenn Harder, Jim Harder, Brian Harder Cindy Gilge, Damon Harder Paul Harder Phil Harder Patty Schafer, Kathy Huffer, Jane Cybulski; Twenty Three great-grandchildren; and Four great-great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM CST Wednesday, November 1, 2006 and 9:00 AM Thursday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM CST Thursday, November 2, 2006, Pastor Jack M. Cox officiating. Interment will be at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, Ind.
