Evert "Bud" Spencer November 25, 1929-November 9, 2014 Mr. Evert "Bud" Spencer, 84, of La Porte, Indiana, died Sunday November 9, 2014, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was born November 25, 1929 in Breathitt Co., Kentucky, the son of Claude Spencer and Lunah (Russell) Spencer. Evert worked as a roller operator for Reith and Reily. He was a member of Free United Baptist Church in North Judson, IN. He loved his church, liked fishing and flea marketing and enjoyed spending time with his family. On July 14, 1956, in Knox, IN, he married Tressie (Prater) Spencer who preceded him in death May 9, 2000. He is survived by his son, Manuel "Bub" (Theresa) Spencer of LaPorte, IN; daughter, Patricia (Lloyd) Cole of LaPorte, IN; one grandson, Bill (Rachele) Spencer; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Ella Spencer; one brother, Jesse Spencer of Breathitt Co., KY. Evert was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Elbert Spencer, Manuel Spencer. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 4:00 pm until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday November 13, 2014 at 7:00 pm with Pastor Fred Miller, officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Free United Baptist Church in North Judson, IN .
