Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn M Deardoroff Johnson, age 81, of La Porte, Ind., died Friday, November 16, 2007, at her Residence in La Porte, Ind. She was born April 7, 1926 in Wilcott, IN; she was the daughter of the late Ira Willis Deardoroff and the late Ruth Pollock Deardoroff. Also preceded in death is her husband, Bob Johnson, died 2005. Johnson was a Homemaker and was a member of First Christian Church of LaPorte. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #280, and the AAUW. She was quite an accomplished pianist, had a group of 3- vocalist & pianist that did a radio show weekly in Muncie, IN. She is also survived by her One Son, Mr. David Johnson of La Porte, Ind, One Sister, Mrs. Jean Scroggs of Idaville, Ind, Three Brothers, Mr Wayne Deardoroff of Monticello, Ind, Mr. Donald Deardoroff of Indianapolis, Ind, Mr. Richard Deardoroff of Wolcott, Ind. One grandchild, Mr. Mathew Johnson of Australia. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2007 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2007, with Rev. Rick Abbott officiating. Burial will take place in Meadow Lake Cemetery, in Wilcott, IN.
