Evelyn Houser

Evelyn R.Houser January 21, 1929-February 27, 2018 Evelyn R. Houser, 89, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Michigan City, IN. She was born January 21, 1929 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of McKinley Harris and Geleah (Hires) Harris. Evelyn work for the Rolling Prairie School System for many years and also at the I St. Clinic. She was a member of the Womens Auxillary of the VFW of Rolling Prairie. She married Jerry Houser in La Porte, IN, he preceded her in death October 29, 1990. She is survived by her son, Michael Houser of La Porte, IN; daughter, Kathleen Crass of La Porte, IN; five Grandchildren, Brenda Loggins, Kyle Crass, Kelly Eash, Jared Houser, Todd Houser; and twelve great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Milton Harris, and sister, Betty Campaello. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, March 5, 2018, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday March 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Evelyn Houser.
