Evelyn Bates

Mrs. Evelyn L. Fox Bates, age 79, of La Porte, IN, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at Decedent's Residence in La Porte, IN. She was born March 7, 1927, in Wabash, IN, to Dewey Fox and Theresa Cross Fox, who has preceded. Also preceded ia a son David Bates, and a sister, Ethelmae Curtis. Mrs. Bates lived 42 years in the LaPorte area, coming from South Bend, IN. On December 3, 1948, in South Bend, IN, she was married to Rev. James Bates, who preceded July 29, 1984. Mrs. Bates was a Homemaker and a member of First Apostolic United Pentecostal Church. Surviving are Two Daughters, Mrs. Nancy TIm Tesluck of Sandusky, Mich. Mrs. Sandra David Mrozinski of La Porte, IN, Two Sons, Mr. Rahn Bates of La Porte, IN, Mr. Timothy Bates of La Porte, IN, Ten grandchildren and Eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN, where the family will receive friends for a graveside service, Thursday November 16, 2006, at Pinelake Cemetery. Funeral service will be at Pine Lake Cemetery at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 16, 2006 , with Rev. Richard Hoffman officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, IN.
